We improve communication with the use of touch tablets for homes and residences

This new context of confinement of our users in residences and homes-residences has made the human team of the Ramon Noguera Foundation much more creative in all areas and, in this sense, we have also looked for ways to improve communication with direct care staff and people using residential care services.

For example, the use of touch tablets is an alternative that can help improve communication at all levels. In this sense, this April, the “la Caixa” Foundation collaborated in this proposal and gave us some digital tablets that will be used by people using our residential care service. This donation is part of the # AmbTuAraMésQueMai campaign, an initiative of Caixabank and “la Caixa” Welfare Projects that includes a series of measures promoted during the COVID-19 pandemic and aimed at making the lives of the most vulnerable people easier. (and of the entities that work with them) to make it more comfortable and safer.

Touch tablets are a tool that will strengthen communication and help improve the day-to-day lives of our residential areas that, due to confinement, have seen the routines of users altered and changed.

One of the objectives of the use of the tablets will be, therefore, to improve the communication between the users of the different residential nuclei; experiences, ideas and leisure activities can be shared virtually, and social ties can be strengthened with colleagues, friends and family who have been affected due to confinement. It will also be a great support for professionals when carrying out cognitive stimulation activities so that they can be easily shared and disseminated.

Another of the functions of the tablets will be to guarantee personalized accompaniments to users. From the psychological area of the Ramon Noguera Foundation, it will be possible to make the individual reinforcement necessary to guarantee personal well-being and coexistence within the residential area. And, at the same time, they will also be used to advise direct care professionals both individually and through team meetings.

From the Ramon Noguera Foundation we would like to express our gratitude for the collaboration of the “la Caixa” Foundation, which, in these complex times, helps us to make our day-to-day life better.
