Javier Pérez: project technician for the Ramon Noguera Foundation
Today we interview Javier Pérez, project technician at the Ramon Noguera Foundation. Javier shares with us his journey, from the decision to leave Madrid for a quieter life in the Alt Empordà, to his experience at the Foundation. His commitment and passion for promoting projects that have a positive impact on the community inspire his work and character every day.
1. How did you get to the Foundation?
When our first child was born, my wife and I decided to leave Madrid for a quieter life near the sea, in the town of Alt Empordà where she is from.
When we moved and despite finding a job in a large company, I wanted to work in the social sector, which is what motivates me and where I have the most experience. When I saw an opportunity at the Foundation I sent my CV right away, the rest is history.
2. How would you describe your experience at the Foundation this first year?
The experience is very positive, all thanks to a team full of talent working to improve the quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities. We work well as a team and motivate each other to get the job done and face the day-to-day challenges, so I'm very happy because this suits me well.
3. Tell us, what does a Social Project Technician do on a day-to-day basis?
My job is to identify and manage opportunities for new projects that improve our services. Once these opportunities have been detected, it is necessary to prepare proposals in collaboration with different areas of the Foundation, to present them to administrations or private organizations.
Finally, each project is monitored and controlled to ensure the best possible impact and reports are prepared for the public or private entities that support it.
4. How do you identify the most suitable sources of funding for the different projects?
Although I have a pretty broad map of all possible opportunities out there, this is a live job and new opportunities are always coming up. Therefore, it is necessary to be very organized and to be on the lookout for the most relevant public and private agents both at the local, Catalan, state and, of course, European level.
5. How would you describe the culture of the organization and the collaboration within the team?
We are clear that we are an organization that works for people, so the entire Foundation team is very aware of the responsibility we have. This makes the atmosphere pleasant and encourages collaboration, promoting the improvement of the quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities.
6. What project or initiative would you like to see implemented in the future?
Anyone who supports the goals of the Foundation. Personally, I would like to promote projects that support environmental sustainability, social inclusion or cooperation projects with entities from other countries, which can always bring a plus to people.
7. What role do strategic alliances play in the success of the Foundation's social projects?
Building alliances is key to carrying out projects that have the greatest possible impact on the community.
With almost 60 years of history, the Foundation has a good network of public and private agents who support us and value our work. Our goal is to continue growing this network to promote projects that form a fairer and more supportive community.
8. Finally... what is your favorite Alimentos Onyar product?
I love the Foundation vegetable pizza, but my son prefers the tomato, basil and olive ravioli.
