This month we celebrate the first anniversary of the renovation of the Ramon Noguera Foundation car wash in Mas Xirgu. This service has been operating since 2003 and in 2023 it was updated with the aim of adapting to the needs of the moment and facing the climate emergency situation.
The renovation of the facilities has allowed the implementation of new technology to optimize the use of resources and guarantee a more sustainable service. Among these improvements is a water recycling system that recovers up to 85% of the water used, an essential step to reduce water consumption and environmental impact in a context marked by drought without compromising the quality of the service.
To delve deeper into the impact of this renovation, we spoke with Carolina Puertas, Car Wash supervisor, who shares her experience with us:
1. How did you come to work at the Foundation?
A while ago I wanted to make a job change and when I saw the offer from the Foundation I didn't think twice, it immediately attracted me. I applied for the offer and now I've been part of the project for just over a year.
2. How have regular car wash customers received the service renewal?
Very good! We now have a high-quality machine and new facilities that offer comprehensive vehicle cleaning, customers have noticed it. The cars come out almost like new, and this is always a source of satisfaction for both customers and us.
3. How does the new range of products impact the quality of service and the environment?
The products we use are sustainable and environmentally friendly. This allows us to maintain the high quality of service and, at the same time, contribute to the preservation of our environment. With the new facilities we recover up to 85% of the water used, a much-needed measure in times of drought.

The water recovery system is amazing. We recover up to 85% of the water used in each wash. It's a pleasure to work knowing that we have such a low environmental impact and that we are contributing to the responsible use of resources.
During this year, our car wash has not only maintained the excellence that has characterized us over two decades, but has also reinforced its environmental commitment. The project continues to offer employment and training to people with intellectual disabilities, providing them with an inclusive and dignified working environment.
