This project will not only provide a dignified and adapted living space, but will also significantly contribute to the well-being of people with support needs in the Gironès region.
An inclusive and sustainable model of coexistence
The new residence, located in the Monastery of Sant Daniel, will have 30 places distributed in three units. With individual rooms and bright common spaces, it has been designed to offer a family and inclusive environment, where independent living and respect for individual rights will be encouraged.
The project was created to respond to the increasing demand for residential resources for people with intellectual disabilities in the region. In addition, it has been developed with a sustainable vision, integrating elements of bioclimatic architecture such as photovoltaic panels and efficient air conditioning systems that contribute to reducing environmental impact.
A historical enclave with institutional collaboration
Located in a privileged natural environment, near the center of Girona, this residence has been possible thanks to the collaboration with the Benedictine Nuns, who guarantee the sustainability of the monastery's cultural and social heritage.
Funding and collective support
With a total budget of 2.75 million euros, this project has been possible thanks to a solid co-financing model. A total of 1.4 million euros has been contributed between Next Generation EU, the Girona Provincial Council and the “La Caixa” Foundation. The rest of the financing has been completed with the Fundació Ramon Noguera Group's own resources and other collaborations.
This model reflects the trust and support of the main collaborating entities in a project that not only responds to an urgent social need, but also promotes values such as inclusion, sustainability and innovation. We deeply appreciate the contribution of these institutions, which have been key to making this transformative initiative a reality.
A promising future
Once construction is complete, the project will enter its next phase, focused on the equipment and implementation of assisted technologies and adapted spaces. This will position the Sant Daniel residence as a benchmark in care for people with intellectual disabilities.
With this new infrastructure, the Ramon Noguera Foundation Group reiterates its commitment to inclusion, sustainability and improving the quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities, with this new facility being a tangible example of this mission.
