The vision of a family using the Center for Specialized Care

Author: Anna Maria Corchuelo, mother of Carles Castro, user of the Specialized Care Center of Sarrià.

My name is Anna and I am the mother of Carles, a 21-year-old boy who started at CAE de Sarrià de Dalt in September 2016.

I want to share with you as it has been for me the exit of the school and the beginning in an adult center.

When you receive a call and they tell you that your child has to leave the center where he has been since he was 3 years old and that there is no place left, you can not believe it. I spent a lot of emotionally affected days, angry, with rage, pain and, above all, very disappointed with some people and institutions that make decisions about our lives from their offices.

Starting at the new center was supposed to reset my work schedule and reorganize my family life, but what worried me most was how my child would be affected.

But well, after the storm, I calmed down a bit and I contacted the Ramon Noguera Foundation to see what I would be. I had many questions and wanted answers. I met the psychologist, the director, I visited the center, etc. And in the end I signed a contract with duties and obligations.

I wanted to be calm but it was still awful ... uf! It was hard

The time has passed and in Carles it is well, happy as always, happy and laughable, which is what characterizes him. And if he is this way, it's because he has known people like Núria who I leave every morning and treats him with professionalism, patience and affection, and with small details he shows that he likes his job and that a mother is grateful for everything Heart
