Shopp Out, the Social Initiative of the Ramon Noguera Foundation, today gave the start of Christmas shopping with a remarkable influx of visitors. Until Sunday, the Foundation's premises, located in the polygon of Mas Xirgu de Girona, will bring together a total of 44 brands of clothing, footwear, accessories, toys and household items that offer discounts of up to 70%.
Unlike other years that Shopp Out has been celebrated during the month of October, this year the organizers have decided to delay dates and move it in November to take advantage of the proximity to the Christmas holidays and thus promote the solidarity purchases of visitors As usual, 5% of sales will be allocated to social projects of the non-profit organization that has been working for more than fifty years to improve the quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities in Girona and the comarca del Gironès.
During the inauguration of this twelfth edition, which was held this afternoon, the director of the Ramon Noguera Foundation, Pepita Perich, described "Shopp Out" as an authentic showcase of ideas for Christmas "and invited the Attendees to take advantage of it to make their purchases, which will also have a solidarity component. On the other hand, the president of the Chamber of Commerce, Domènec Espadalé, highlighted the "double commercial" but, above all, social aspect of the Ramon Noguera Foundation project, one of the oldest social entities in the city.
The inauguration was also attended by the territorial director of the Department of Labor, Social Affairs and Families, Marta Casacuberta, who praised the work carried out by the Foundation who considers "an ally" to bring work opportunities to people with intellectual disabilities Lectual Finally, the Councilor for Economic Promotion of the Girona City Council, Gloria Plana, concluded the event saying that Shopp Out is an event in which "everyone wins": the business sector, society, the most vulnerable people and the city.
The Shopp Out is a fully consolidated event in the city where fashion-side enthusiasts can also enjoy gastronomy and leisure. Along the route there are several foodtrucks with varied proposals, including gluten-free options. There will be no lack of live music, with daily concerts, and children's activities such as magic shows, tales or makeup workshops.
The Shopp Out will be open every day from 10 am to 9 pm except Sunday, which will close at 8 pm.
