From 9 to 13 March, as part of the Erasmus + SEIS project for entrepreneurship and innovative solutions , our organization has welcomed two professionals from the intellectual disability sector of Uruguay, Natalia Medeiro and Isabel Morales, director and technician respectively from the APRODIME entity in Paysandú.
This visit is part of a job shadowing activity, with the aim of providing an opportunity to improve communication between the organizations associated with the project and to encourage the continuous improvement of networking. The project is a collaboration between EU and Latin American countries and aims to empower young people and organizations in social entrepreneurship.
During their stay, Natalia and Isabel had the opportunity to get to know first-hand the services and centers of the Fundació Ramon Noguera and to talk with the professionals involved. Meetings and visits to other entities, organizations, museums, etc. have also been organized. from the city of Girona. Good practices and experience have been shared, and have allowed the professionals of both organizations to see their work from a different point of view, to observe and compare the operation of the centers, the working methodology, the services and the attention towards people with intellectual disabilities.
As a point, the stay had to last until the 20th, but due to the recommendations regarding COVID-19, it had been shortened and returned to Uruguay earlier than expected.
