The Sports City In Madroa de Vido hosted the event of closing and delivery of trophies to the champions of LaLiga Genuine 2017/18. Javier Tebas, president of the Spanish football league, Carmen Avendaño, councilor of RC Celta de Vigo, and some LaLiga Santander ambassadors, delivered medals and plaques commemorating the 18 Genuine clubs that participated in the competition.
The first champion of LaLiga Genuine 2017/18 was RCD Espanyol, who won the competition with 35 points. In addition, the Athletic Club Foundation received the Fair Play trophy of LaLiga Genuine, which rewards the teams for their behavior and respect in the field.
The Catalan club became the first champion in the history of LaLiga Genuine, the first league in the history of Spanish professional football for people with intellectual disabilities, a project whose objective is to transfer to the society the strong commitment of the Professional football for diversity and inclusion.
The Girona FC Genuine, and the players of the Ramon Noguera Foundation who are part of it, received from the ambassadors Ismael Urzaiz, Milinko Pantic, Fernando Sanz, Rubén de la Red (former player and legend of LaLiga Santander) and Sergio Álvarez (current goalkeeper of the RC Celta de Vigo) medals to his fantastic participation.
