Generalitat Girona Awards

Last Friday, May 17, the presentation of the Generalitat Girona Awards was held, created in 2023, and bearing the names of president Josep Irla, writer Aurora Bertrana and republican teacher and trade unionist Isabel Vila.

The event is divided into three categories, named after three personalities from Girona:

· Josep Irla Bosch Award: to the Girona or Girona woman of the year, in recognition of natural persons for their relevant and remarkable career, professional or life, which can be awarded, exceptionally, posthumously.

· Aurora Bertrana Salazar Award: to social projects of natural or legal persons that promote equity and equality in the demarcation of Girona.

· Isabel Vila Pujol Award: to business initiatives led by individuals or legal entities that have stood out for promoting an innovative, green and socially responsible economy in the demarcation of Girona.


During the event , Pepita Perich was awarded as Girona woman of the year with the Josep Irla Bosch Award, in recognition of her involvement for more than 40 years at the head of the Ramon Noguera Foundation.

His leadership has marked a stage, working with passion for the work he has developed growing the Foundation into the multidisciplinary entity rooted in the territory that we are today.

The event began at 7:30 p.m. in the Josep Irla Auditorium in Girona and brought together personalities from the province who wanted to be present at the presentation of awards that want to recognize people, companies or entities that have contributed to improve the regions of Girona.

The evolution of the Foundation

During these 40 years we have become a benchmark and close to the territory.

We work with commitment and professionalism managing 22 service centers; divided into 19 service centers for people and 6 establishments with added value, which allow us to provide employment and social opportunities in order to improve the quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities.

· 10 homes.

· 3 day centers for adults.

· 3 centers for children.

· 3 Special Work Centers.

· An Orientation and Employment Center.

· And two future projects such as the day center in C/Saragossa and the residence in Sant Daniel.

La Pepita undoubtedly leaves a legacy with the social and work inclusion of users with intellectual disabilities.

The Awards are honorary and the winners are given a reproduction of the sculpture Naixement de Venus, by Arístides Maillol, located in the building of the Generalitat de Catalunya in Girona.

This year, the jury of the awards was made up of Jordi Grau; Carme Casadevall; Isaac Padrós; Dolors Carreras, Joaquim Salvi, Mariàngela Vilallonga, Lluïsa Ferrer, Joan Tibau and Albert Bou and chaired by journalist Maria Bouabdellah.

Awards that value the actions and projects that make Girona a territory full of values. Congratulations to all the award winners!
