The Foundation at the 69th edition of Girona, Temps de Flors

13-05-2024

This year, with the support of CaixaBank, we had the opportunity to decorate one of the most emblematic spaces of the entire route, the Arab Baths of Girona, with an exceptional floral arrangement that captures the essence of water and beauty ephemeral of flowers. The project, entitled "The water route", transforms the space into a magical landscape that promises to surprise all visitors.

Explosion of creativity

After sharing the different ideas of the team, we focused on creating environmentally sustainable pieces that fit in with the Foundation. The best way to do it? With recycled materials!

So, from the Foundation's Occupational Center in Montilivi, a creative team of 6 professionals and more than 50 users have worked with enthusiasm and dedication. For almost 3 months they have deployed all their imagination to create the different figures inspired by water that are part of the exhibition.

Each of the figures, made of cardboard and stone in a completely handmade way, represent a stop on this "water route" where visitors can find two flamingos, an ibis, a girl playing on the bank of a river and a man jumping into the water.

In a year where water has been more important than ever, the exhibition has 190 liters of recycled water that have been used to create illusions of movement. The aim of this representation is not only to capture its beauty, but also to raise awareness of its importance and preservation.

The floral arrangement was made by the florists Joan Manel Guillén, Lidia Torrijos, Sergi Gonzàlez, Raimon Gandia and Voluntàries d'Horta.

In conclusion, this new collaboration between the Foundation and CaixaBank exemplifies the opportunities that are created when different people work together for a common benefit.

The Foundation's participation in "Temps de Flors" shows its roots in the territory and aims to highlight the talent and abilities of the Foundation's users, contributing to making this exhibition an unforgettable experience for visitors.

We invite you to visit the exhibition and let yourself be captivated by its play of lights and movement. It will certainly not leave you indifferent!
