6th Mostra Girona, Temps de Flors
“Girona, Temps de Flors” recovers the essence of the floral exhibition in this 67th edition, with the connection with nature as a source of inspiration for most of the projects and with a view to a future with hope and optimism, looking forward to leaving behind two years marked by the COVID-19 pandemic. From 7 to 15 May, you can visit a total of 119 floral projects spread over 107 points.
After last year's special edition "A cel obert", this year you will be able to visit interior spaces again, such as the cloister and the basements of the Cathedral or the Arab Baths, and some courtyards, such as the Casa Sambola . In addition, the four routes will be maintained in the 12 districts of the city that have a floral project (Barri Vell, Can Gibert del Pla, Carme, Devesa, Eixample, Mercadal, Montilivi, Santa Eugènia, Sant Narcís, Taialà and Vall de Sant Daniel) and that propose a route through the main commercial axes and of the urban and periurban green zones of the municipality.
Sample 79: Rose garden of the Devesa gardens
In route 1 we find the floral sample 79, which is located right in the gardens of La Rosaleda and is entitled "Rose garden of the gardens of La Devesa". It is a contemporary interpretation of a 19th century rose garden.
This ephemeral montage aims to be a visual presentation of the project “El roserar dels Jardins de la Devesa” which, framed within Temps de Flors, will become a work that will remain in the city in the form of a rose garden that will show the history of roses. The project will be extended to other flower beds in the future and little by little this didactic journey on the history of the "queen of the garden" will flourish.
It is an exhibition in memory and homage to Xavier Juscafresa, by Àngels Artigas, Dolors Picazo, Ignasi Esteve, Josep Maria Trias, the Devesa Residents Association, the Girona Floral Association and gardening technicians from the Parc de la Devesa.
