Last September 21, the first Report on the Situation of people with intellectual disabilities in Catalonia was presented in Girona. A report promoted by Dincat and Fundació Granés, carried out by Ariadna Fitó de Broll SCCL. The report shows the enormous barriers for people with disabilities to decide on their own life projects:
Only 9% of people with disabilities have been able to choose the type of home to live in.
42% have not attended the desired school or training center.
The unemployment rate for people with intellectual disabilities is 23%, double that of the non-disabled population.
