Pierre Oriola and Núria Martínez sponsor the second edition of a MICBasketball'18


This Monday the second edition of the MIC International Basketball International Basketball Tournament, which this year celebrates its 2nd edition, has been presented. The event was attended by the player of FC Barcelona Lassa Pierre Oriola and the player from the Spar Citylift Girona Núria Martínez.

The MICBasketball celebrates its second edition, bringing together 112 teams from 11 countries, thus exceeding the 60 that took part in the tournament last year. This means that more than 500 games will be played and more than 1,000 players and players from all over the world will be present. Good proof of the success of the first edition is that 50% of the 2017 participating teams this year will once again repeat the MICBasketball experience. One of the novelties of this edition is that six new categories will be released, 4 at the male level (U18, U15, U13 and U12), and 2 women (U18 and U12).

It will take place from March 28 to April 1, and will be held in 16 pavilions of the counties of Girona: Vidreres, Bescanó, Girona, Sant Feliu de Guíxols, Palamós, Lloret de Mar, Maçanet, Cassà de la Selva, La Bisbal, Santa Cristina d'Aro, Begur, Calonge, Caldes de Malavella, Fornells de la Selva, Vilobí d'Onyar and Sils.

The tournament, which this year again has the main sponsorship of CaixaBank and the Diputació de Girona, defends values ​​such as effort, certainty, respect and teamwork. MICBasketball is a great opportunity for all participants to learn about other cultures and to compete with future stars of world basketball. In parallel to the MICBasketball, this year the eighteenth MICFootball will be played. Edition after edition, MICFootball has become the reference tournament of world soccer base. For this reason, and with the aim of continuing to grow, this 2018 is going from 264 to 372 registered teams, which will play in 46 playgrounds of the Costa Brava.

6th edition of MIC Integra

The MIC Integra football adapted for people with intellectual disabilities celebrates 6 years. This year several soccer and basketball teams from all over Catalonia will be cited on Friday, March 30th, in Vidreres to compete among them. MIC Integra has the support of "la Caixa" Welfare Projects and aims to promote the creation of a space in the sports imaginary to make these players have their own competition.
