Last November 28, the Ramon Noguera Foundation celebrated the 2024 Family Day, an annual event that brings together families and professionals to foster bonds, share experiences and reflect on day-to-day challenges.
This edition stood out for a participatory and enriching atmosphere thanks to which we were able to establish different spaces for dialogue.
Salvi Amagat opens the day
The meeting began with the presentation and words of Salvi Amagat, president of the Ramon Noguera Foundation and father, who shared a very human reflection on the changing needs of our children.
His reflection also highlighted the need to take care of ourselves as parents, and understand how our expectations, actions and attitude can shape the emotions and development of our children. This intervention invited attendees to reflect deeply on their role as companions and to value self-care as a key element to offer more solid and balanced support.
Accompanying vs. overprotection
Salvi then gave way to one of the key moments of the day, the session led by Nuria Sànchez , social worker and consultant. With the title "Acompanyment vs overprotection" , it started a participatory debate on the challenge of not overprotecting or limiting the autonomy of one's own children.
During her presentation, Nuria emphasized how families can focus their support to find the balance between overprotection and autonomy for their children. With very participatory dynamics and spaces to share doubts and experiences, this session turned out to be one of the most valued by the attendees for its practical usefulness.
Resilience for emotional well-being
The closing of the day was in charge of Andreu Gatuellas , a psychologist specialized in personal resilience and emotional well-being. With a motivational approach, Gatuellas provided tools to manage emotions and maintain emotional balance in the face of difficulties by conveying a key message: the importance of cultivating one's own resilience as a way to accompany better.
With a very approachable language, he managed to connect with the attendees and offer resources applicable to everyday life.
A shared future
The Foundation would like to sincerely thank the involvement of all the families and professionals who participated in this day.
Your involvement and commitment are essential to keep moving towards a more inclusive, conscious society full of opportunities for everyone.
